March 30 is the date for the first Emirates flight to Cebu in the Philippines, which can be reached via daily flights from Dubai. On the way back Emirates stops over in Clark, making the city the third Emirates destination in the Philippines. With an additional four flights a week to Manila, Emirates soon totals 18 flights a week to the Philippines.

On August 3, Emirates opens a new route to Rangoon in Myanmar (Burma). This is a daily flight from Dubai, continuing to Hanoi, Vietnam. Emirates also operates a flight to Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam.
